Coastr partners with Volteras to bring OEM-grade vehicle data and remote connectivity to fleet operators

Volteras, the connected vehicle data platform, has partnered with Coastr, the vehicle-as-a-service (VaaS) platform for vehicle rental and fleet management, to bring OEM-grade vehicle data and remote connectivity to rental and leasing operators without the need for aftermarket hardware.

As rental and leasing fleets take on more premium and electric vehicles, operators are finding that checking mileage against a rental agreement is no longer enough on its own. They also need to know when a vehicle needs a service before it breaks down, be able to find and recover a vehicle quickly if it goes missing or is overdue, and offer customers a smoother pickup and drop-off experience.

Getting that level of data has traditionally meant fitting aftermarket tracking hardware to every vehicle, which is costly to install, remove and maintain across a fleet that's constantly turning over.

Coastr customers can now access mileage and vehicle health data across 31 of the 36 OEM brands supported by Volteras, while keyless entry is available for Mercedes, Tesla, Volvo and Ford vehicles, with further manufacturers to follow. Fleet operators can therefore connect mixed fleets through a single integration, without the cost and operational burden of additional hardware.

Volteras provides access to OEM-grade vehicle data and remote connectivity, while Coastr delivers these capabilities through its fleet management and customer-facing platform.

Through the integration fleet operators gain access to live mileage, vehicle health and fault data directly within Coastr, helping them identify issues earlier, reduce vehicle downtime and improve maintenance planning. Customers can access vehicle information and keyless entry through their operator's branded Coastr app, enabling a smooth and genuinely contactless pickup and drop-off experience.

Together, Volteras and Coastr enable rental and leasing operators to turn connected vehicle data into practical operational benefits, improving efficiency while enhancing the customer experience.
