Business Operations Lead

Business Operations Lead at Volteras — run the operating layer of a Series A connected vehicle data company, including financials, board cadence, and investor rhythms. Remote from the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and coordinate the company's core operating outputs: board packs, investor updates, and all-hands materials, working closely with the CEO
  • Run the month-end close cadence and own the operating interface with our accountants
  • Produce the financial and commercial analysis that supports board, investor, and leadership decisions — including P&L, runway, and scenario modelling
  • Keep the operating model documented and ownership clear — who's doing what, where the gaps are
  • Spot where the machinery is breaking and fix it, or flag it to the CEO before it breaks
  • We're hiring a Business Operations Lead to run the operating layer of the company — the financials, the board cadence, the investor rhythms, and the operating model that holds it all together.

    The role starts at an unusual moment. Our Chief of Staff is going on maternity leave shortly, and your first six months will overlap with that. During that period you'll work directly with the CEO on the company's core operating rhythms — drafting, coordinating, and doing the analytical heavy lifting on board materials, investor updates, and financial analysis. You'll have real scope to shape how things run.

    When the Chief of Staff returns, you'll continue in the role reporting to her, keeping ownership of the operating layer with growing scope as we scale. You'll have the autonomy of a senior hire, the visibility of a small team, and a real seat at the operating table.

    Requirements:

  • 5–8 years of experience in analytical, structured roles trusted with senior-level outputs — management consulting, venture capital, investment banking, transaction services, or operating roles at startups
  • Genuine financial fluency: comfortable owning a P&L, building a runway model, and sense-checking commercial analysis
  • Strong written communication — turning messy inputs into clear narratives for investors, the board, and the team
  • Track record of building or running operating machinery that outlasts you: rhythms, reporting, systems that other people pick up and keep going
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and owning outcomes end-to-end
  • Genuine interest in the EV and connected vehicle space
  • The connected vehicle data platform
